You can use Basement Q for first time interactions with prospective customers as a conflict analysis engine. It analyzes your emails and threads or simulate how prospects can potentially perceive your email drafts to understand their position towards you and the deal.

Before you start analyzing, make sure that Basement's Q for Email is installed in your web browser. Here's how:

Ensuring the extension is enabled

If Basement's Q for Email is properly installed and enabled, the buttons highlighted in the image below will be available when you open your inbox on Google Chrome.

If you don't, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Extensions button which looks like a puzzle icon at the top right corner of the screen. Then, click the Pin button beside Basement's Q for Email on the drop-down list. If the extension is not on the list, follow our Installing Basement Q for Chrome guide to install it.

Understanding the analysis

The Analyze buttons tells you four things:

  1. Selling Zone Position

The Selling Zone™ Position widget is a visual representation of your relationship with the prospect. The green stripe at the center functions as a golden path to closing the deal. Being in the Selling Zone™ means that you likely have balanced, concise, and confident communication patterns with your prospect.

Read our The Selling Zone™ Position Widget guide for more information.

  2. Upper Hand

This feature analyzes the selected message, denoted by an open envelope icon in the Selling Zone chart, to show who has the advantage. The person with the bigger icon has the upper hand.

  3. My Sentiment

Analyzes the sender’s perceived sentiment form negative to positive. The circle on the bar shows the position of the perceived sentiment.

  4. Next Move

This section can appear in some cases when it’s your turn to reply. It contains suggestions that you can apply to your next response.
