What is the Selling Zone?

The Selling Zone is where there’s a higher probability of closing a deal. It's denoted as the green area within the upper chart in Basement Q Chrome extension.

Messages in the Selling Zone chart, represented by envelopes, are divided into three main categories:

  1. Above the Selling Zone means you may be perceived as a little bit “rude."

  2. In the Selling Zone means you're in an optimal position to win the deal.

  3. Below the Selling Zone means you may be perceived as incompetent.

How did you fall out of the Selling Zone?

The way you left the Selling Zone may provide further information. There are two ways to come out of the Selling Zone:

  1. In a message sent by your prospect that demonstrates the way you are perceived by them. This can also be broken into two possible scenarios:

    • If you are now above the Selling Zone: you may appear as too aggressive in the eyes of your prospect. Stay calm and self-assured and in any case do not over-please.

    • If you are now below the Selling Zone, your prospect may not be all in yet. Stay strong and competent.

  2. In a message that you sent. This, too, is broken into two possible scenarios:

    • If you are now above the Selling Zone, you probably came out too aggressively.

    • If you are now below the Selling Zone, you might have been over-pleasing.

In general, you may want to fine-tune your response with our ‘Simulate’ tool in draft-mode when replying to a message.
